Qarabag, the winner of the Misli Premier League, has earned a spot in the Champions League.
The Azerbaijani champions will begin their journey in the continent’s most prestigious club competition from the 1st qualifying round, Idman.biz reports.
The draw for the group where Qarabag will be placed has also been confirmed. As has become tradition, the Aghdam club will be among the seeded teams.
This is due to Qarabag’s points in the UEFA rankings, where they currently have 32,000 points.
As was the case last year, the team that qualifies from their country’s tournament will still play in the Champions League. This can influence the seedings for clubs. It is also possible that Qarabag, with the highest ranking among those who have already secured a spot in the 1st qualifying round, will have an advantage.
However, the standard format dictates that 32 teams will compete in the first round, and 18 of them have already been confirmed.
Out of these champions, it has been determined that 7 will not be seeded, while 4 teams will be placed in the opposite pot. These 4 non-seeded teams could be possible opponents for Qarabag.
