A clarification has been made regarding the unpleasant incident between Gurban Gurbanov, the head coach of Qarabag, and Bahlul Mustafazada, the club's defender.
Anar Hajiyev, the head of the press service for the Aghdam club, provided insight into the events that occurred after the match against Sabah, which secured the club's 12th championship title, Idman.biz reports.
He explained that after congratulating the players in the dressing room, Gurbanov passed by Mustafazada without stopping, and despite the defender throwing his bandage in frustration, there were no problems within the team. Hajiyev emphasized: “Gurban Gurbanov met with some staff and players in the stadium, which is why he didn’t meet with Mustafazada a second time in the dressing room. The player was also removing his bandage at the time. Currently, the team is in high spirits and preparing for the next championship matches. There is no internal issue with any player, not just Mustafazada. Everything is at a high level.”
Bahlul Mustafazada, who was rumored to have an issue with the head coach, signed a 3-year contract with Qarabag in May of last year, which is valid until the summer of 2027.
