"We don't have complete information about our opponents at the moment. However, we have friends who play futsal and work in this field in Estonia and Sweden."
As Idman.biz reports, this was said by the head coach of Azerbaijan futsal champion Araz-Nakhchivan Vitaliy Borisov.
Speaking to the press service of the Azerbaijan Futsal Federation, the expert commented on the draw of the Champions League: "Probably, we will get some information through them. The main concern is the location of the country where the group games will be held. This will inevitably cause road fatigue. Like other Scandinavian countries, futsal is developing in Sweden. If we take into account that they will play at home, then they will try to turn this factor into an advantage. Unlike previous years, according to the regulations, only the group winners will advance to the next round. That’s why, it will be a difficult journey. From today we will start collecting information about competitors. Because we don't know about their staff. Shortly, the training plan and transfers of our team will be announced."
The Nakhchivan representative will start the 2024/25 season in Sweden. Our representative will also face the hosts Uddevalla, Sillamae Silla (Estonia), and Sparta Belfast (Northern Ireland) in group H of the first round. The games will be held from August 20 to 25.
