The 14th General Meeting of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation (AGF) was held at the National Gymnastics Arena.
As Idman.biz reports, members of the Executive Committee of AGF, representatives of constituent organizations, members and representatives of federations, as well as coaches and gymnasts of national gymnastics teams participated in the report meeting.
Rauf Aliyev, deputy of the Milli Majlis, member of the Executive Committee of the AGF, who opened the event with an inaugural speech, greeted the participants of the meeting and congratulated the entire sports community on the occasion of the victory of the President of the National Olympic Committee of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, who always pays attention and care to sports and the athletes, in the presidential elections held in Azerbaijan.
First, the members of the mandate commission appointed by the Executive Committee, then the protocol and agenda of the general meeting were approved.
At the meeting, the report of the general secretary of the federation about the achievements in gymnastics sports in 2023, the international competitions held in our capital, the activities of new gymnastics divisions in the regions and the successes of AGF in the international arena was presented in video format.
The financial report of AGF for the last year was also heard at the meeting.
Mariana Vasileva, member of the Executive Committee of AGF, deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, spoke and said that 2023 is a successful year for our gymnasts, and another responsible Olympic year awaits our representatives.
Vasileva noted that the achievements in the field of gymnastics were possible as a result of the great care and attention of Mehriban Aliyeva, president of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.
Head of the department of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports (ASAPES) Gyurka Gancheva spoke about the successful cooperation between AGF and ASAPES and pointed out that the mutual activity will continue in the future.
Elshad Narimanov, the chairman of the Veterans' Council of AGF, emphasized that veteran gymnasts are also surrounded by the attention and care of the federation's leadership.
Later, commemorative medals were presented to athletes who achieved achievements in the field of gymnastics in 2023.
Kamilla Aliyeva, the winner of the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship held in Baku, Tofig Aliyev and Adil Hajizade (tumbling), the team score winners of the Trampoline Gymnastics and Tumbling World Championships held in Birmingham, England, were awarded the silver medal of the AGF.
The General Assembly concluded its work with the official closure.
