Denmark advances to final in 1st place at European Championship in Baku

The European TeamGym Championship continues in Baku.

Idman.biz reports that during the afternoon session of the second day, the mixed team qualification rounds took place at the National Gymnastics Arena. Denmark secured 1st place and qualified for the finals, along with Great Britain, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, and Italy. Austria, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Finland were eliminated in the initial stage.

The next round of qualifications will be for the men's teams. The Azerbaijani athletes participating in this round include Adil Hajizade, Nihat Muradli, Elnur Mammadov, Aydın Alizada, Ramin Demirov, Rəsul Ahmadzada, Mansum Safarov, and Tofig Aliyev, with Chingiz Valiyev as a reserve.

A total of 14 countries—Czech Republic, Denmark, Austria, Estonia, Finland, Great Britain, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, and host Azerbaijan—are competing in the championship. The competition includes 541 athletes divided into 46 teams.

TeamGym is a popular team event in European gymnastics, featuring performances on three disiplines: the TeamGym floor, acrobatic track, and trampet (mini trampoline).
