Traditional champion in Baku

The European TeamGym Championship in Baku began without any surprises.

As expected, the men's competition ended with Denmark's victory, Idman.biz reports.

The northern team, which dominates this sport, won its 13th gold medal in history. Out of the 15 continental championships held so far, only two have been won by men's teams from other countries. Along with their 13 golds, Denmark has also secured 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.

Sweden claimed the gold in 1996 and 2020. This year, the Scandinavians finished second in Baku. Overall, Sweden has 2 gold, 9 silver, and 5 bronze medals.

Norway, which placed third, claimed its 6th bronze medal. Their only silver was won two years ago when they surpassed Sweden. Interestingly, the same three countries—Denmark, Sweden, and Norway—again made it to the podium in 2022, marking the 7th time in the history of European Championships that this exact ranking occurred.

Aside from these three countries, only Iceland (one silver) and Great Britain (one bronze) have experienced medal success.
