The team of the Azerbaijani national team, which will participate in the Grand Slam judo tournament to be held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, has been announced.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijan team will go to the competition with 16 judokas.
11 of our athletes will compete in men's competition. These are Balabey Aghayev, Turan Bayramov (both 60 kg), Ruslan Pashayev, Rashad Yelkiyev (both 66 kg), Ibrahim Aliyev (73 kg), Maharram Imamverdiyev, Omar Rajabli (both 81 kg), Vugar Talibov, Eljan Hajiyev (both 90 kg), Ushangi Kokauri and Jamal Hamzatkhanov (both +100 kg).
5 female judokas will try their strength in the tournament. Leyla Aliyeva (48 kg), Gultaj Mammadaliyeva, Aydan Valiyeva (both 52 kg), Acelya Toprak and Fidan Alizade (both 57 kg) will go to Tbilisi tatami.
It should be noted that 427 athletes from 75 countries are expected to participate in the competition to be held on March 22-24.
