"Bremen Masters" was very interesting. Usually more European countries take part in this tournament, but this time there were also judokas from Brazil, Japan, Uzbekistan and other Asian countries.
It was said by the head coach of the Azerbaijan national youth judo team, Elkhan Mammadov to Idman.biz.
The 42-year-old specialist evaluated the performance of Azerbaijani team at the "Bremen Masters" in Germany. He said that winning 4 gold and 3 bronze medals in the intense competition and being the first in the team score indicates the development: "Last year we were ahead of everyone with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze awards. But this time we participated in the tournament with a stronger team. Some athletes made me happy. Of course, there were those who did not live up to expectations. The year has just begun. This is also normal. Brazil and Uzbekistan participated in this competition with full teams. Japan's leading heavyweight athletes did not perform. We won medals in almost every weight category. No one represented us in 100 kg. Only 81 kg has a gap. We are searching. We think we will solve it soon. Considering all this, I can say that our result is very good. 4 gold is not an ordinary thing.
It should be noted that at the "Bremen Masters" Azerbaijani judokas Muhammad Musayev (66 kg), Suleyman Aliyev (73 kg), Aslan Kotsoyev (90 kg) and Kanan Nasibov (+100 kg) won gold medals by defeating all their opponents. Babarahim Mirzayev (60 kg), Islam Rahimov (66 kg) and Tuncay Shamil (90 kg) took the third place.
