Although Mehti Abbasov defeated Atanasios Orfanos (Cyprus) in the 1/16 finals, he lost to Vit Sarboč (Czech Republic).
After defeating Georgy Yahnin (Germany) and David Yurkovchi (France), Ali Gazimammadov lost to Mykhailo Solyanik from Ukraine in the 1/4 finals. Azerbaijani representative will compete in the consolation stage.
