The number of medals won by Azerbaijani judokas in the international arena this year has been revealed.
As Idman.biz reports, the Azerbaijani athletes won 129 prizes in the competitions of adults, youth, teenagers, and veterans.
39 of them are gold, 30 are silver, 60 are bronze. Our team ranked 9th in the world. In this indicator, Azerbaijan is ahead of Japan, the founders of judo. Asians won 38 gold, 18 silver, and 37 bronze medals.
Of course, among the numerous awards, the world championships of Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg) in Abu Dhabi have a special weight. Their success is remembered as a historical result.
2024 Judo Grand Slam Baku was rich in terms of awards. Azerbaijani athletes scored a golden "hat trick" at home. Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg), Zelim Tckaev (81 kg) and Murad Fatiyev (90 kg) won the championship.
