Vusal Galandarzada, Azerbaijani judoka, won the gold medal of the competition in the 73 kg category on the second day of the World Youth Judo Championship held in Odivelas, Portugal on October 5.
Idman.biz reports that in the final match, Vusal showed exceptional skill and perseverance and won the title of world champion by winning a brilliant victory over the representative of the United States of America, Jack Yonezuka, with the "seoi-otoshi" trick in extra time.
This victory has gone down in history as the first gold medal won for our country in the last 5 years at the World Youth Championship. The last time this achievement was achieved by Rovshan Aliyev at the World Championship in 2018.
