Ajdar Bagirov won the start against Jos Schell (Netherlands), then won over Gaga Gagadze (Georgia) and Mate Lakosha (Hungary) and advanced to the semi-finals. He lost to Muhammedsodiq Sadikov (Uzbekistan) at this stage and will compete with Alireza Nikseresht (Iran) for the bronze medal.
