World Youth Championship has ended in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
The winners of the team competitions were announced on the last day, Idman.biz reports.
Azerbaijani judokas joined the fight from the 1/8 finals. Azerbaijan team won 4:2 against the tatami owners. Azerbaijan team's work in the 1/4 finals was not difficult. Azerbaijani representatives defeated Turkmenistan 4:0.
Azerbaijan national team could not repeat the same success in the semi-finals. In a tense fight with France, the opposing team won 4:3. In the match for bronze, Azerbaijani judokas met with athletes from Uzbekistan. Azerbaijan team lost 2:4 and finished the world championship without a medal.
Azerbaijan team won 3 medals in individual competitions. Kanan Nasibov (+100 kg) won silver, Suleyman Shukurov (81 kg) and Ajdar Bagirov (100 kg) won bronze medals.
