Rashid Mammadaliyev started with a victory over Bruno Bermeo (Ecuador) and later defeated Julio Cesar Koda (Brazil) to advance to the quarterfinals. However, after losing to Karen Galstian (IJF) in this stage, he entered the repechage. Mammadaliyev defeated Baisangur Bagaev (Serbia) and competed for the bronze medal. His opponent was Tatsuki Ishihara from Japan, who emerged victorious, leaving Mammadaliyev in 5th place.

Zelim Tckaev began the competition with a victory over Botond Toth (Hungary). He then defeated Adrian Sulca (Romania) and Dimitri Gochiladze (Georgia) to reach the final. In the decisive match, Tckaev faced Zaur Dvalashvili (Georgia) and won, securing the top spot on the podium.
Omar Rajabli won his 1/8 final against Vincenzo Pelligra (Italy) but later lost to David Karapetyan (IJF) and to Nugzari Tatalashvili (Georgia) in the repechage match.
On the first day of the tournament, Acelya Toprak (57 kg) won a bronze medal.
