Achelya Toprak (57 kg) won a bronze medal at the Grand Slam competition held in Abu Dhabi, and opened the medal account for Azerbaijan.
He made his debut at the Grand Slam tournament held in Tokyo at the end of last year and performed in 10 competitions as part of Azerbaijan team, Idman.biz reports. Toprak rose to the podium in his 10th international competition.
Before that, Achelya was a member of the Great Britain national team.
In the fight for bronze in Abu Dhabi, he defeated Flaka Lokkha (Kosovo).
