Azerbaijan Improves Its Position in the Judo World Tour - VIDEO

Azerbaijan has enhanced its standing in the Judo World Tour.

According to Idman.biz, following the "Grand Slam" tournament held in Abu Dhabi, the statistics of countries' performances in this year's ranking tournaments have been updated.

The trip to the UAE resulted in four medals for our team: Zelim Tckaev (81 kg) won gold, Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg) claimed silver, while Murad Fatiyev (90 kg) and Acelya Toprak (57 kg) secured bronze medals.

After the Zagreb Grand Prix, the team has risen from 14th to 11th place in the World Tour standings. Since the beginning of the year, our judokas have achieved a remarkable tally of 4 gold, 12 silver, and 16 bronze medals across various competitions, including Grand Prix and Masters events.
In the ranking table, we surpass countries such as Croatia, Kazakhstan, Spain, Brazil, South Korea, and many others.

Japan leads the rankings (21-9-26), followed by France in second place (19-15-19), and neutral athletes completing the top three (14-9-20).
