It was an interesting appointment in the German Judo Federation (DJB).
Laura Vargas Koch, a famous former athlete, has been appointed to the post of vice-president of the institution, Idman.biz reports.

In addition to her sports career, Vargas Koch wrote her doctoral dissertation and is a professor of mathematics at the University of Bonn.
Vargas Koch, 34, will now also serve on the DJB Board of Directors.
"I want to contribute to judo, which has given me a lot. Since I don't see myself as a coach, this is a very good opportunity for me," she explained her motivation for the position.
