The European U23 Judo Championship begins today in Pila, Poland.
According to Idman.biz, on the first day of the competition, nine Azerbaijani athletes will compete for medals.
In the women’s category, Farida Mirzayeva (48 kg), Khadija Gadeshova, Aydan Valiyeva (both 52 kg), Fidan Alizada (57 kg), and Aytaj Gardashkhani (63 kg) will take to the mat.
In the men’s category, Hussein Allahyarov, Murad Muradli (both 60 kg), Rufat Shovletov, and Abil Yusubov (both 73 kg) will compete.
The tournament, which runs until November 17, features a total of 15 Azerbaijani judokas.
