A new judoka is now in the national team of Azerbaijan.
According to the information provided to İdman.biz by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation, IJF has officially approved Acelya Toprak to perform under the flag of Azerbaijan from November 3, 2023.
She will compete in the 57 kg category as part of the women's national team.
Currently ranked 27th in the world, the athlete is a silver medalist at the 2022 Perth Open Oceania Tournament and won a silver medal at the 2017 European Youth Championship.
It should be noted that the main goal of the athlete's transfer is to increase the intra-team competition and to support the development of promising young and teenage athletes at the expense of a strong training partner.
