Azerbaijan’s national judo team member, Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg), has shared his thoughts after competing in his first tournament following the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
Kotsoiev addressed his fans with a post on social media, Idman.biz reports.
The Olympic champion emphasized that his primary goal remains increasing his medal count:
"My fifth medal from the European Championship! I’m still in the game and very hungry for new victories!"
For context, Kotsoiev faced Georgian judoka Ilia Sulamanidze—whom he had previously defeated at Paris 2024—in the final of the European Championships. This time, Kotsoyev was defeated by a yuko move, earning a silver medal.
