Karate fighters started fighting in the European Universities Games held in Hungary.

Idman.biz's correspondent sent to Miskolc reports that on the second day of the competition, 5 more athletes of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Education and Sports (ASAPES) fought on the tatami.

All of them tested their strength in Kumite. Farid Savadov, one of our students, won all his opponents. He will fight for the gold medal in 1 day.

Men
60 kg

Farid Savadov fought against Erhan Tornaci (Bucharest University of Economics) at the start. Although the match ended with a score of 0:0, the judges considered Savadov active and he leveled up. He was also stronger than Burak Ozdemir (Gazi University, Turkiye) - 3:1. He faced Matija Bojic (Institute of Business Administration, Montenegro) in the semi-finals. The match ended with a score of 2:2. Based on the first point principle, our karate player qualified for the finals. The decisive match will take place on July 18. Savadov will try himself against Andras Laszlo (Corvinus University, Hungary) in the championship fight.

Ramil Bakhshaliyev faced Matthias Kovarik (University of Innsbruck, Austria) in his debut. Bakhshaliyev won with a score of 5:0. In his second fight, Bakhshaliyev lost to Omer Faruk Ateş (Istanbul Kent University, Turkiye) based on the principle of the first point - 4:4. As the Turkish athlete lost in the next match, Ramil said goodbye to the competition.

Fatima Jabrayilova challenged Insaf Jabari (University of Valencia, Spain) in her first match and won 8:0. She then lost to Natalia Varkova (University of Trnava, Slovakia) with a score of 0:3. Jabrayilova finished the race ahead of time because her opponent could not reach the finals.

Suada Karimova faced Bianka Sodoray (Eötvös Lorand University, Hungary) at the start. ASAPES student lost 2:3. As Sodoray advanced to the finals, Azerbaijani karateka participated in the consolation match. She defeated Leona Markova (University of Palacky, Czech Republic) 5:3 on the way to the prize. Karimova faced Viam Ajoub (University of Barcelona, Spain) for the bronze medal. As the opponent won with a score of 4:1, Suada took the 5th place.

Aysu Aliyeva faced Tricia Sombe (University of Paris-Saclay, France) in her debut. Although the match ended with a score of 3:3, the opponent called the stage based on the principle of the first point. Aliyeva said goodbye to the Games because the French lost in her second match.

The finals in all weight classes will be held on July 18.
