Farid Savadov: "It doesn't matter who the opponent is"

"I came to Hungary to win. I am happy that I did it."

Farid Savadov, the winner European Universities Games, told Idman.biz’s correspondent sent to Miskolc.

ASAPES student evaluated his success. The 19-year-old athlete, two-time European and 1-time World Champion among teenagers and young adults, said that the competition was not too difficult for him: "I had 4 fights. There was some excitement before the meeting with the second of them - Burak Ozdemir from Turkiye. Because he is an experienced competitor with good results. But it was not as I expected. The fight was easy for me. In the end, I won with a score of 3:1. As the most difficult fight, he would single out the fight against Montenegrin Matija Bojic in the semi-finals. It was a little uncomfortable for me to face him. But I fought better. In the final, I defeated local Andras Laslo and won the gold medal."

19-year-old Savadov, who went from the youth team to the senior team a little earlier, also looked at his path to success: "I took the 5th place in my first senior European championship. It was here that my failure to win a medal gave me extra motivation. I believe that I will be able to get new titles as well. The opponent does not matter to me. I enter all battles to win. I don't care if my opponent is experienced or not. He has a title or not."

Savadov also announced his next goal. He said that he wants to win a gold medal among U20 karate players in October: "Then I want to rank the titles among adults. My dream is to become one of the best karate fighters.

Farid will also enter the ring in the final fight between the teams, which will start a little later.
