Azerbaijani karate athletes secure 1 silver, 4 bronze in Moscow

The Moscow Karate Universe-2024 international karate competition took place in Russia's capital.

According to the Azerbaijan Karate Federation, the national team claimed a total of 5 medals in the tournament.

In individual kumite events, Fidan Teymurova (-50 kg), Madina Sadigova (-55 kg), Aminaga Guliyev (-60 kg), and Huseyn Mammadli (-67 kg) each won a bronze medal, while Roman Heydarov secured a silver medal in the kata category.

The Azerbaijani karate team participated under the leadership of the Federation’s Vice-President, Rahman Hatamov, and the head coach of the senior national team, Shahin Atamov.

The international event featured nearly 350 athletes from 15 countries, including Russia, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Belarus, Armenia, Italy, Bulgaria, Venezuela, Tunisia, Egypt, Uzbekistan, and India.
