Athletes of the Azerbaijan Karate Federation successfully performed at the World Championship in the ashihara type held in Matsuyama, Japan.

The highest result was achieved by Musa Musazade in the 60 kg weight category. He won the World Champion title for the 5th time, defeating all his opponents.
In the competition of 14-15-year-old athletes, Vusal Abbasov and Afsar Atakishiyev took the second place on the podium. Another Azerbaijani athlete Farman Rahimov won the bronze medal of the tournament.
