UFC fighter Carlos Prates has openly admitted his ongoing struggle with nicotine addiction.
According to Idman.biz, Prates shared his challenges, saying he started smoking at the age of 12 or 13. Reflecting on his youth, he mentioned, “I wasn’t interested in school, and studying wasn’t for me. I never thought I’d become a professional fighter.” Now, he smokes 8-10 cigarettes daily and even tried to quit once, but his weight increased by 5 kg within a week. Prates also confessed that he smoked before his APEX fight, as drinking wasn’t allowed there.
Carlos Prates is currently ranked among the top 15 fighters in UFC’s welterweight division.
