A new appointment has been made official in the Azerbaijan Olympic Committee.
As per Idman.biz, Namig Novruzov has been appointed the general secretary of the organization.
He was born in 1978 in Baku. After graduating from Tumwater High School and Centralia College in the United States, he studied at Baku State University (bachelor's degree), Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (bachelor's degree), National Economy and Public Administration Academy under the President of Russia (master's degree) and Oberta de Catalunya University of Spain (master's degree) studied.
Novruzov started working in 1999 and worked in important positions in the public and private sectors for more than 25 years (Chief Advisor of the Protocol Service Sector of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan). Member of the Board of Directors of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) and the Assessment Group that monitors compliance with the Sports Charter of European countries, a member of the Consultative Committee on Youth and Sports of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Republic of Azerbaijan in the relevant sports program of the United Nations. He was a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Also, he closely participated in the organization of the Baku 2015 European Games and the Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games.
