July 26 - an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Azerbaijan Republic was held.
As Idman.biz reports, representatives of various federations, athletes and the sports community participated in the event, which took place on a special stage created in front of Deniz Mall.
Event started with the artistic part. A special drum group performed and later, a video showing the 30-year activity of the MYS was shown.
After that, the head of the mass physical education and technical sports sector of the ministry, Aydin Mammadov, awarded the winners of the video and short film competition.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Indira Hajiyeva congratulated everyone on the anniversary. She said that today is not only a holiday for the young, but a special day for those who has young spirit: "The Ministry of Youth and Sports was established 30 years ago by Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. During these years, local sports administrations began to operate. The country's youth policy has changed since those years. If we divide this period into stages, in 1994-2005, MYS institutions were established. Neglected youth believed in the state. Sports infrastructures were built in the following years. Today, there are 33 youth homes and about 50 Olympic sports complexes in our country. All this is for the development of youth."
She noted that in the 2020 Patriotic War, young people were remembered for their magnificence: "As Mr. President Ilham Aliyev said, young people played a key role in our victory. Currently, our young generation working in state structures and enterprises were once a part of the "Youth Movement". We have a very different youth today. It should be said with great joy that the young, living in the region, have become more active. They are already thinking about West Azerbaijan and East Zangezur. They participate in the revival of our liberated lands."
The event continued with a concert program. Various music was performed with the participation of Murad Arif and Rilaya.
The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games will be broadcast live at the jubilee event and the passage of our athletes from the parade will also be watched.
