Azerbaijani sumo wrestler won a silver medal at the World Championship

The World Sumo Championship among adults and juniors was held in the capital of Japan, Tokyo.

Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijan was represented by 2 athletes in each 2 competitions.

Royal Agamaliyev (85 kg) took the second place in our team. Among the seniors, he defeated the sumo wrestlers of Tajikistan, Hungary and Mongolia and advanced to the finals. Royal compete with ukrainian Svyatoslav Semikras, who is the multiple World and European champion in the decisive match. Our athlete won a silver medal because of the opponent's victory.

Our other 3 athletes were 5th on the podium.
