Officials of the Movement, representatives of the member countries, congress organizers who are visiting Baku to participate in the Congress of the European Fair Play Movement, came to the Alley of Honor and paid tribute to the memory of Heydar Aliyev, the national leader of our people, the architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijan state, and laid wreaths and flowers in front of his grave.
Idman.biz reports that the guests also laid flowers on the grave of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and paid tribute to her dear memory.
Later, they visited the Alley of Martyrs, commemorated the martyrs of the Motherland who lost their lives in the struggle for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and laid a wreath in front of the "Eternal flame". At the end, the delegation visited the Turkish Martyrs' Memorial and took a commemorative photo in front of the monument.
It should be noted that from today the Congress of the European Fair Play Movement started its work with committee meetings in Baku.
Also, within the framework of the Congress, the European Fair Play "Gala Award" ceremony will be held, the participants will be awarded for their services in the promotion of fair games and the development of the movement in Europe and in Azerbaijan.
The Congress, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan within the framework of the joint cooperation of the Azerbaijan National Olympic Committee with the Fair Play Commission, will cover the topic of "Fair Play Education to eliminate racism in sports" for two days. Representatives of local sports organizations, as well as representatives of European Fair Games Movement member countries who have visited Azerbaijan, will take part in the event, which will be held at the "Hilton" hotel.
