Azerbaijani Para badminton player Ibrahim Aliyev won two silver medals at the international tournament held in the capital of Uganda, Kampala.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijan representative, who is 14th in the world ranking and ranked in the "Top 5" in Europe, won the A group in the individual competition.
Having won the quarter and semi-final matches, Ibrahim lost in the final to Indian Jatin Azad with a score of 0:2 (14:21, 16:21).
The athlete was also defeated in the men's doubles competition, one step away from the gold medal. Ibrahim Aliyev and Karan Paneer (India), who won 2 victories in the group and advanced to the semi-finals, defeated the Indian representatives in three sets. They lost to the pair of Jatin Azad - Abhijeet Sakhuja (India) in the decisive match - 1:2 (17:21, 21:18, 10:21).
Ibrahim was among the winners of the Uganda Para Badminton International tournament, which is included in the annual calendar of the World Badminton Federation, for the third year in a row.
