Azerbaijani national parataekwondo team won the second medal in the world championship held in Veracruz, Mexico.
According to the information of the Idman.biz website, Abulfaz Abuzarli (80 kg, K-44) was promoted to the honorary chair after Imameddin Khalilov (70 kg, K-44) in the team of our team.
Our representative finished the World Cup with a bronze medal. Abuzarli, who was released from the 1/16 finals, challenged Costa Rican athlete Andres Molina in his first duel. The match ended with a score of 21:14 in favor of Abulfaz. He faced Great Britain's Yosef Line in the 1/4 finals. Our parakaekwondo player left this battle as a winner - 12:10.
On the way to the final, our compatriot, who secured a bronze medal by advancing to the semi-finals, clarified his relationship with the Uzbek athlete. Abuzarli took the 3rd place as the opponent won in a tense battle.
Thus, the Azerbaijani national team, which participated in the world championship with 3 parataekwondo players, won 2 medals. Abulfaz Abuzarli was awarded a bronze medal in the world championship where Imameddin Khalilov was the champion, and our national team was awarded the 3rd place among men in the team score.
