"I am proud of Raman. To me, he’s a champion, even without a medal. Living with an athlete is very challenging because it means that your entire life must follow a strict routine."
These were the words of Anna Salei, wife of para-swimmer Raman Salei, during an interview with İdman Bizde.
She highlighted that without discipline, success is impossible: "That's why we live by a routine. Every hour of our day is planned, just like it is with small children."
Anna, who has been with Raman for 8 years, shared that her husband’s first medal was an incredible, proud, and joyous moment: "I think both of us were overwhelmed with tears of joy, not just me. He achieved what he set out to do, but he didn’t stop there. Even though that medal was a huge accomplishment for us, Raman kept pushing forward."
Anna also spoke about their young daughter: "The bond between my daughter and me is very strong. She understands my emotions. We’ve watched Raman’s performances together and felt the excitement as one. I’m sure that children, just like adults, feel everything deeply, but they can’t express it."
