"I was very excited," said Imameddin Khalilov (70 kg, K44), a para-taekwondo athlete of the Azerbaijani national team, in an interview with Idman.biz.
He shared his experience from his first-ever master class. According to the Paralympic, World, and European champion, he prepared for the session just as he would for the Paralympics: "It was a wonderful experience. I did my best to ensure the kids could learn as much as possible. I witnessed how children with physical disabilities gained a new outlook on life. I believe the number of such children will continue to grow. I'm very proud to have participated in this session, and we have plans to hold similar classes in other cities as well, as I want to promote para-taekwondo across the country."
Khalilov added that his next goal is to defend his title at the World Championship next year: "I also aim to become a European champion for the third time."
Around 30 children and young para-taekwondo athletes attended the master class.
