The Minister of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov, assessed the preparation of the federations for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
Speaking to Idman.biz after the opening ceremony of the scientific-practical conference "Towards the Olympic Championship: National and Global Perspectives in Clean Sports" organized by the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency, the minister announced that all sports organizations continue their preparations.
Gayibov said that other athletes, except the cyclists who lost their chance at the Olympics, are working for success: "All federations are working. The only sport we no longer have a chance at is cycling. But in other sports, our athletes prepare, go to competitions, earn license points. Some sports will only have one race. They are preparing for that tournament. I wish success to all our athletes."
The minister also expressed his opinion about March 5 Physical Education and Sports Day: "Sports Day is approaching. March 5 is sports day. Sports week will be announced. There will be various events. I invite you all to sports again."
It should be noted that. Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games will last from July 26 to August 11.
