The swimming practice of triathletes in Paris 2024 was canceled due to the pollution of the Seine river.
Idman.biz reports, the Organizing Committee of the Paris 2024 Olympics and the World Triathlon organization issued a joint statement in this regard.
In the statement, it was said that after the rains in the French capital in the last 48 hours, the water quality in the river has decreased. In the statement, it was emphasized that the athlete's health is the main thing: "The main athlete is healthy. World Triathlon International Federation has not fully guaranteed that the race will be held. But according to the 48-hour weather forecast, the water quality may return to its previous state before the start (July 30).
If the water quality does not rise to the required level, triathlon competitions may be postponed for several days. Another option is to organize a swimming race in the Marne River near Paris.
Rostislav Pevtsov will represent Azerbaijan in the triathlon.
