Idman.biz reports that Zelym Kotsoiev (100 kg), who won the gold medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, told reporters at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.
The Olympic champion said that he is happy to have advanced to the top of the podium in the French capital: "I have couldn't sleep for 3 days for joy. I am very happy that I returned to Azerbaijan with a gold medal. I am also happy that I fulfilled the hopes of those who prayed for me, worried and supported me."
Kotsoiev defeated Ilya Sulamanidze (Georgia) in the final of Paris 2024.
