Aliabbas Rzazade started the competition from the 1/8 Elimination Round. The gold and silver medalist of the European championships wrestled with Gulomjon Abdullayev, the representative of Uzbekistan. The match ended with an 11:4 victory for the opponent.

Osman Nurmagomedov also made his debut match in the 1/8 Elimination Round. He faced Mongolia's Baasanjargal Byambasuren. Nurmagomedov won the match with a score of 11:2. He will challenge Nazem Amine (San Marino) in the quarterfinals. Nurmagomedov challenged Myles Amine (San Marino) in the quarterfinals.
