Nigar Dominguez, the wife of Azerbaijani boxer Loren Alfonso Dominguez, who won a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, told Idman.biz.
She expressed her opinion about Loren being the second in the French capital. According to Nigar, fighting at 81 kg, 86 kg and then 92 kg was not easy for Dominguez: "He trained every day and suffered a lot. I am very happy that Alfonso has represented Azerbaijan twice at the Olympics and is not returning empty-handed again. In fact, he and we were expecting a gold medal. But I am thankful that he will return home safely without injury."
The wife of the only boxer with 2 Olympic medals in the history of Azerbaijan read the opinions written about Alfonso and said that he was bad: "He does not deserve these opinions. After the fight, I read the comments on social networks and, frankly, I feel very bad."
Dominguez lost to Lazizbek Mullojonov (Uzbekistan) in the final match at Paris 2024 and ended the Olympics with a silver medal.
