Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation (ACRF) and the Main Department of Youth and Sport of Baku city will host the open Baku rowing championship on June 24.
As Idman.biz reports, about 80 teenagers and young rowers from Mingachevir, along with the capital, will compete in the competition, which will be held in front of ACRF on the Boulevard territory.
Athletes will compete in academic rowing, kayaking and canoeing. Baku championship will last one day.
It should be noted that one of the main priorities of ACRF is to make rowing sport more popular among teenagers and young people, and to ensure mass participation. The purpose of holding the Baku championship is to select new, promising athletes from among teenagers and young people, to attract them to the national team in the future.
