On October 16-18, the international tournament Mingachevir Regatta-2024 will be held under the joint organization of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MINS) and the Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation (AKAF).
Up to 100 athletes from 12 countries - Azerbaijan, Estonia, Georgia, Italy, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Turkiye, Ukraine and Uzbekistan - will compete in the competition, Idman.biz reports.
The traditional regatta will be organized for the first time in Fuzuli, liberated from occupation - in the Lower Kondalanchay reservoir.
The competitions will start on October 16 at the Mingachevir Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center. The official opening ceremony of the regatta will take place on October 17 in Fuzuli in the Lower Kondalanchay reservoir in connection with the liberation of Fuzuli from occupation. A day later, the final competitions and the closing ceremony will be held at the Mingachevir Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center.
Azerbaijan Canoe and Rowing Federation organized a large-scale sports event, as well as the President's Cup and Mingachevir Regatta international tournaments, for the first time in Sugovushan, one of Azerbaijan territories freed from occupation.
