"The sport of rowing has significantly developed in our country in recent years," said Chingiz Huseynzade, Vice-President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC), during a statement to journalists regarding the 2024 Mingachevir Regatta, held for the first time in liberated Fuzuli.
Huseynzade emphasized the importance of the event: "This competition holds great significance, especially since today marks the anniversary of Fuzuli's liberation. The presence of foreign guests at the tournament adds even more value. Guests of the 15th European TeamGym Championship, hosted in Baku, have also arrived in Fuzuli to witness the regatta. Events like these play a crucial role in nurturing athletes in Azerbaijan."
The 2024 Mingachevir Regatta international tournament will conclude on October 18.
