According to Idman.biz, this statement was made by Farid Gayibov, the Minister of Youth and Sports, during a press conference about the first regatta held in the liberated city of Fuzuli.
He emphasized that today in Fuzuli, there is a genuine festive atmosphere: “Today marks both the anniversary of the city’s liberation and the organization of an international tournament. International competitions have been held in the Qarabag region before, but this is the first time a regatta is being held in Fuzuli. Over the past week, two major international events - the 15th European Championship in TeamGym and the Mingachevir Regatta - have taken place in Azerbaijan. This reflects the development of sports in our country. Sports is a vital sector that brings people together. Everyone is here, and you can feel the happiness among participants and spectators. We hope to see an increase in the number of athletes participating in future regattas.”
2024 Mingachevir Regatta will conclude on October 18.
