British Paralympian Sam Ruddock has been missing in Las Vegas since April 16, prompting a desperate plea for help from his family.
Idman.biz, citing Daily Mail, reports that the 35-year-old athlete, who has cerebral palsy and has represented Team GB in athletics and cycling, traveled alone to attend WWE WrestleMania but has not been heard from since.
Las Vegas police are treating the case as a missing person investigation, with authorities in the UK, US, and Interpol now involved. Ruddock, a father of one with another child on the way, was last seen hitchhiking near the city's famous Fremont Street area, according to a social media post from the day he disappeared.
His mother, Fran Ruddock, described him as "very sociable" and urged anyone with information to come forward. Friends say Ruddock had been staying in a hostel and left belongings behind, suggesting he intended to return.
A spokesperson for British Cycling confirmed that both British and American police are actively investigating. Ruddock, who made his Paralympic debut at London 2012 and later became a world champion cyclist, is remembered for inspiring young athletes through school visits.
Authorities continue to appeal for any information that could help locate him.
His most recent Instagram post, shared on April 16, features a lengthy video showing him riding in an Austin-Healey sports car with an American man he appears to have only recently met:
