Azerbaijani table tennis players proved their confidence at the WTT Youth Contender tournament organized in Georgia.
The members of the selection team, which participated in the international competition under the leadership of head coach Mikhail Timofeyev and coach Sabina Azizli, were awarded three prizes in the Batumi trials, Idman.biz reports.
Onur Guluzade won the 1st place among athletes under 13 years of age, defeating all his competitors. Yagmur Mammadli, who competed in the same age group, was satisfied with the 3rd place. The tandem of Adil Ahmadzade and Marziyya Nurmatova was among the prize winners in the mixed doubles competitions. 16-year-old athletes took the third place in the U-19 age group.
In addition to the host Georgia, the teams of Azerbaijan, Turkiye, USA, England, Israel, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania participated in the Batumi tests.
