The World Juniors Taekwondo Championship is currently underway in Chuncheon, South Korea.
Idman.biz reports that Azerbaijani taekwondo player Vasif Salimov has emerged as one of the prize winners in the championship.
Competing in the 63 kg weight class, Vasif showcased his skills by defeating opponents from Kyrgyzstan, Vietnam, Chinese Taipei, and Thailand, successfully advancing to the semi-finals.
In a closely contested semi-final match, Vasif faced a Bulgarian athlete but ultimately fell short, securing 3rd place and earning a bronze medal for his efforts.
2024 Junior World Championships began today and will continue until October 6.
