Darya Huseynova, a rising star in Azerbaijani taekwondo, achieved a major milestone by winning gold at the European Championships in Tirana, Albania.
In an interview with Report.az, Huseynova shared that her victory was in honor of her father, Elbrus Huseynov, who was martyred during the 44-day Patriotic War in the battles to liberate Jabrayil, as reported by Idman.biz.
Reflecting on her success, Huseynova stated, "This was my first international competition, and I’m thrilled to have won. My ultimate goal is to represent Azerbaijan on the world stage at the World Championships and the Olympics."
She also highlighted the strong support she receives from her family: "My mother has been my biggest supporter, cheering me on at every event."
