Diego Forlán to make professional tennis debut

Uruguayan veteran footballer Diego Forlán is set to make his debut in professional tennis at the ATP Tour in November.

Idman.biz reports that the organizers of the upcoming tournament in Montevideo have confirmed the participation of the former striker.

After retiring from football, the 45-year-old Forlán took up amateur tennis and will compete in doubles alongside Argentina's Federico Coria, who is currently ranked 78th in the ATP rankings. The tournament is scheduled to take place from November 11 to 17. The details regarding Forlán's match schedule and opponents have yet to be announced.

Forlán has a rich footballing background, having represented the Uruguay national team in 112 international matches and played for clubs like Manchester United, Atlético Madrid, and Villarreal.
