"I’m very happy," shared Ecem Aknam, Turkish volleyball player for Azerbaijan’s Absheron team, in an interview with Idman.biz.
Following their victory in the Azerbaijan Cup, held as part of the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World," Aknam expressed her excitement about starting the season with a title.
"We are a strong team; we always find solutions on the court," she said. "I believe this is key for any team. We support each other and play as a team. From the beginning, we believed we could win the cup, and we enter every match aiming for victory because we’re a team that loves to fight."
In her first season abroad, Aknam is already looking to her next target: celebrating an Azerbaijan Championship win to add to her achievements.
Notably, Absheron clinched the Cup title with a 3-0 win over Ganja in the final.
