The European Weightlifting Championship among 15- and 17-year-olds, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, continues.
As Idman.biz reports, Allahverdi Garagozov and Aslan Amiraslanov took part in the competition today as part of the Azerbaijan national team.
They tried their strength in the 89 kg weight category among athletes under 15 years of age.
Garagozov took the 5th place with a total of 225 kg (100+125).
Amiraslanov was remembered with great success. He lifted 114 kg suddenly and became the gold medalist of the European Championship in this movement.
He lifted 140 kg over his head in the push-up movement and surpassed all his competitors in this movement as well.
With a total of 254 kg (114+140), Aslan won the gold medal in the final standings and climbed to the top of the podium and finished the competition with 3 gold medals.
It should be noted that 415 (198 girls + 217 boys) athletes from 38 countries are competing in the championship, which will end on June 23.
