Russia withdraws from World Championship

Russia will not participate in the upcoming World Weightlifting Championship.

According to Idman.biz, Dmitry Vasilenko, president of the Russian Weightlifting Federation (RFAF), confirmed the withdrawal, explaining that it was due to the refusal of the organizers to accept Russian athletes under a neutral status.

The application deadline for participation ended on November 6.

The World Championship will take place in Bahrain from December 4 to 14. The number of athletes representing Azerbaijan at the event has not yet been disclosed.
